BetUS vs Bovada – Review Summary
When determining the quality of a sportsbook the first thing to look at is which sports they have available and what kinds of markets are available for the sports they have featured. Both sites do well in this respect as they each have over 20 sports and wide-ranging betting lines.
Equally as important is the odds on offer, it’s no good having a ton of betting options if all the odds are terrible as the overall objective of gambling is to win more than you lose and finding value odds plays a big part in long-term gambling success. BetUS and Bovada, when compared to other online sportsbooks, have very competitive odds and when we compare them with each other they are pretty evenly matched.
Another important aspect that can increase your chances of winning, is bonuses. The best online sportsbooks should offer promotions and bonuses for both new players and existing customers alike. Both sportsbooks also stand out in this respect, with plenty of opportunities to claim extra funds for your wallet.
The battle between these two highly respected online sports betting websites is closely run. Keep reading to find more in-depth detail about the two sites, what they do well, where we think they could improve, and ultimately which one we think is better.
What are BetUS and Bovada?
Both BetUS and Bovada are hugely successful offshore sportsbooks. An offshore sportsbook is a sportsbook that is not based within US territory and holds a gaming license from an overseas organization. These two sportsbooks both hold a Curacao gaming license and are based in Costa Rica.
The fact that these two sites are based offshore means that they can be accessed from any state and users can place bets on sports regardless of if your state has passed sports betting legislation to legalize sports betting. This is because the sportsbooks don’t fall under federal jurisdiction.
Another advantage of offshore sportsbooks like BetUS and Bovada is that they often offer more sports and alternative betting markets that US-based sportsbooks do not. Because these sportsbooks accept customers from around the world, as well as offering the major US sports you can find sports that are more niche in the USA like rugby, cricket, and snooker. Furthermore, they can offer college sports betting markets that many states are prohibited from doing.
BetUS vs Bovada – Bonuses
One of the major benefits of online sportsbooks is that most of them offer big bonuses to attract new users. In this section we’ll run down the bonuses offered by each site to let you know where you can get the most free bets and rewards
Welcome Bonuses
Welcome bonuses are a great way to boost your bankroll and increase your chances of winning, plus everyone loves a freebie.
Bovada promo codes provide two options for welcome bonuses one of which is accessible to all users and all payment methods. The other is a bonus only available to users who deposit via cryptocurrency. The regular sports bonus gives you an extra 50% of your initial deposit of up to $250. The crypto bonus provides you with a 75% match up to $750. The minimum deposit to qualify for either bonus is $20.
Likewise, BetUS promo codes have two deposit bonuses with one being reserved for crypto deposits. The regular bonus is a 100% match up to $2,500. In addition, they will give you a 50% match up to $635 to use at their online casino. The crypto bonus is a 150% match worth of up to $3,750 + 50% up to $1,250 to use at the casino. The minimum deposit to qualify for either bonus is $100.
When it comes to the amount BetUS comes out on top with a higher percentage amount and the higher maximum cash amount. However, Bovada’s requirements are better. Bovada requires only a $20 min deposit and a 5x rollover amount. BetUS is a $100 minimum deposit and a 10x for regular and 15x for crypto. Time is also a factor you have just 14 days to meet the rollover requirements at BetUS but 6 months at Bovada.
If you are going to be depositing large amounts and placing a lot of bets or large bets BetUS may be the better option. However, if you aren’t depositing hundreds or thousands of dollars regularly and placing a large number of bets then Bovada may be the better choice. Below you can take a look at our table that lays out the details of each welcome offer.

Existing Player Promos
Welcome bonuses are all well and good, but you want a sportsbook to offer promotions and bonuses on a regular basis. The welcome bonus is a great way to star, but rewards for existing customers are just as important.
The first offer that both these sites offer is a reload bonus, which is where you are awarded a percentage match of every deposit. They work much the same way as the welcome bonuses but usually at a lower percentage. The percentage of the reload bonus at these sites depends upon your level in the loyalty scheme, which we discuss later on this page, and how much you are depositing.
Another way both sportsbook reward existing customers is with refer-a-friend bonuses. If you have a friend that is looking for a sportsbook and you recommend either site and supply your friend with your code then you can claim 200% of whatever your friend deposits up to $275 dollars at Bovada. At BetUS, you can claim a 100% match of your friend’s first three deposits up to $2,000 each time so a potential $6,000, although it’s with noting the 100% is split 50/50 over sports and casino.
Both sites also offer free entry for existing customers to competitions they have throughout the year for special events such as the Superbowl, NBA finals, and March Madness.
Like the welcome bonuses BetUS offers much higher dollar amount bonuses but Bovada’s requirements on the cash you receive are easier to achieve so it’s dependent on the amounts you will be depositing and how regularly you bet to which site offers the best value.
VIP & Loyalty Schemes
If you plan to gamble regularly and invest a lot of money into your sports betting account then it is worth knowing if the site offers a loyalty or VIP program and what are the requirements and rewards that the scheme offers. The good news is that BetUS and Bovada both offer loyalty programs.
With Bovada everyone who opens an account with them is automatically entered into the VIP scheme. You earn points for every bet you make. Not all bets earn you the same rewards for example every $1 you place on a singles bet earns you two points but every $1 on parlays earns you 25 points. You earn cash rewards for every 2500 points you accumulate and move up levels.
As you move up levels the number of points you require to earn a cash reward decreases. You also gain extra benefits as you move up levels like a specialized account manager, meaning priority customer service, express payouts, and weekly deposit bonuses. What’s more at the higher levels you can receive invitations to special events and parties.
At BetUS, everyone who signs up and deposits at least $50 is also automatically enrolled in the loyalty scheme. You earn 1 point for every dollar bet, 2 points for every dollar over $500 wagered and 2.25 if over $1,000. You move up a level once you hit a certain amount of points. The rewards include increased re-up bonuses, tournaments, and free withdrawals and you can receive up to $500 every time you move to a higher level.
In addition to these bonuses, you also get free entry to BetUS tournaments every month. The higher level you are the higher the prizes of the tournament and the best thing is all the winnings from the tournament are straight cash, meaning no rollover requirements you can extract the money immediately.
The pair of online sportsbooks are pretty evenly matched when it comes to loyalty schemes and it depends on what type of player you are to which is best suited for you.
BetUS vs Bovada – Available Sports
These two sportsbooks offer a wide range of sports including all the major American sports and leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. They also have a healthy offering of NCAA football and basketball. Other popular sports like soccer, golf, UFC, motor racing and tennis are all extensively covered as well as some more niche sports like darts, cricket, and rugby.
When it comes to options offered on sports they both do a decent job, but Bovada is slightly out in front. On major sports and matches, Bovada will have in the region of 120-200 available markets where as BetUS is generally in the region of 70-120. At Bovada users can also utilize their what’s your wager feature and request bets that aren’t included on the site and can even request bets on sports that aren’t usually featured.
While BetUS and Bovada outdo a lot of their competition when it comes to available sports, with over 20 different sports available and deep meeting markets. Bovada comes out slightly on top out of the two with a few more sports available and generally has more available bets on the sports they feature.
Live Betting and Streaming
Live betting has become one of the most popular ways to bet on sports and thus evaluating the in-play betting at these two sites was one of the most critical aspects we wanted to look at when comparing them. Also, while live streaming isn’t essential for a sportsbook to have it’s definitely a major plus to be able to watch live sports directly from your betting site.
In regards to live betting, BetUS and Bovada both provide a quality experience and have a decent selection of in-play markets. Bovada generally has slightly more markets and some interesting bets that BetUS lacks, for instance, on NBA you can bet on the first team to score 20 points in a quarter.
Another area Bovada that comes out on top is the user interface. Bovada’s live betting interface looks much more modern and has excellent graphics. You also have the option to view stats from the game, roosters, league standings, and teams’ previous results. At BetUS, you can just see the updated scoreboard.
Live streaming is available at both sites on selected sports and matches. Bovada’s quality of streams is slightly better quality with everything being in HD and not much buffering. However, at BetUS we found that more major sports had streams, we were able to find streams on the majority of NBA and NFL games whereas it was harder to find games from major leagues at Bovada.
Odds
During our research of BetUS and Bovada, we found that both offered above-average odds to players when compared to other offshore sites. Also, when comparing to domestic sportsbooks like DraftKings there was no real difference and often the two offshore sportsbooks offered slightly better value.
The difference between the two sites was very minimal with neither site coming out on top overall. When the odds were different it was very marginal and sometimes BetUS offered slightly better odds and sometimes it was Bovada. You will find excellent value at both of these sites so the battle of odds between the two we have to say ends in a tie.
BetOnline vs Bovada – User Experience
Making sure that the site you use supplies a seamless user experience with an easy-to-use site is also another important aspect when determining if you want to sign up for the site or not.
The two sites in question both deliver in this respect. Bovada standouts in terms of its site design as aesthetically it looks amazing and navigating the site is easy with little to no loading times when switching between pages. The BetUS site also has minimal loading times but we just found that Bovada had more dropdown menus and filters which led to a slightly better and more convenient experience.
Also, Bovada offers an some additional extra features like an excellent prop builder tool and an automatic round robin betting tool whereas at BetUS you have to manually setup your round robin bets.
BetUS, however, offers two features on the site that Bovada and many sportsbooks don’t have. Users get access to the Locker room at BetUS which has tons of sports news as well as picks and predictions from gambling experts. They also have BetUS TV which supplies tips, predictions, and more in video format. These features really add to the overall experience and provide valuable information that can help you to place winning bets.
Again the user experience is a tight battle but Bovada’s site design and betting tools lead us to declare them as the winners. The special features of BetUS’s streaming service and locker room does even the playing field somewhat, but just not quite enough.
BetUS – Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Minimal loading times
- ‘Locker Room’ blog
- BetUS TV
Cons:
- Lacking in menus and filters
Bovada – Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Easy to navigate
- Quick to load
Cons:
- Lack of TV channel or blog
Mobile App
Nowadays, having a mobile betting site or app is not just an added feature, but rather a necessity that a sportsbook must provide to be thought of as a top sports betting. Luckily, BetUS and Bovada both provide outstanding mobile betting sites.
At either site, you can do all the same functions as you could on their desktop site including payments, placing bets, and live betting. This was also a close call but Bovada again slightly comes out on top with respect to mobile betting just because we found navigating the site was a bit more user-friendly, with more menu tabs and filters which made finding what we wanted to do a bit easier and faster.
Customer Service
Hopefully, you will never need to contact customer service as if you do that usually means you have a problem. However, knowing that a superb customer support team is available is a great way to put your mind at ease.
In the terms of Bovada vs BetUS, they both offer superb customer support. You can contact agents at either site by email or live chat. When we tested out the live chat at both sites we got responses almost immediately and the agents were extremely helpful. Furthermore, when we contacted both sites via email the response was speedy. They both state that emails will usually be answered within 24 hours but we got a response within a few hours from each site.
Help centers and FAQ sections are also available and for most questions you have you will be able to find the answer yourself here. A search function within the help centers is also present which makes finding what you are after incredibly easy. Bovada has an additional feature that BetUS does not and that is their community forum, where you can pose questions to other users or search to see if someone has already answered whatever question you have.
Something that BetUS has that Bovada does not, is a phone line. The only way to contact a human on Bovada is the live chat but at BetUS they have a 24/7 phone line for customers to call. This can be useful if you have a more complicated issue that needs resolving, or if you just prefer to explain via speech instead of typing everything out.
We have to say that while the level of support at each site is equal and you will get excellent assistance from professional and friendly support agents at both, BetUS wins this battle just because they have the added option of the phone line.
Safety & Regulation
The most important aspects of deciding on what sportsbook to use are safety, security, and a fair experience is offered. You want to know your personal details, and hard-earned money is not at risk of being stolen. Also, you want to be assured that you are not being cheated out of your money by the site itself.
Both sites hold a license and are regulated by the reputable Curacao gaming commission that oversees many gambling sites worldwide so you can be ensured that BetUS and Bovada are legit sites that offer a fair gambling experience.
Security on the sites is also taken seriously with both of them being safeguarded by a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). An SSL is the standard for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser, which stops malicious third parties from attacking a website and stealing your personal information.
The fact that these two sites have been operating for decades and that millions of users trust them to use them every month is a testament to the security and fairness of both sites. They are both incredibly safe and well-regulated so there is no winner between the two in this category.
Payment & Withdrawals
Having a variety of payment methods is vital when choosing a sportsbook as you need to make sure you can deposit and withdraw conveniently and feel safe in doing so. Luckily each of these sportsbooks provides users with multiple options.
BetUS and Bovada provide very similar payment methods. They both offer cryptocurrencies with no transaction fees, but Bovada accepts six types and BetOnline just four. Fiat payments are also accepted at each site including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, check, and P2P. unfortunately, there are fees attached to fiat options at both sites. Also, users can use eWallets to deposit and withdraw at either sportsbook.
The minimum deposit limits are the same at $10. However, Bovada’s maximum deposit is $15,000 while BetUS’ is $50,000. On the other hand, with withdrawals, the maximum limit is bigger at Bovada set at $9,500 per withdrawal and $180,050 per week. BetUS is only $5,000 or $35,000 per week. We should mention with BetUS higher limits are possible at a manager’s discretion but you will need to call them to arrange this.
Again in the payment department, these two are very evenly matched but Bovada just edges it as they offer vouchers and Match pay which is where you can exchange credits with other users using eWallets like PayPal or Venmo. They also have higher withdrawal limits, but if you want to deposit a lot all at once then BetUS is the better choice.

Conclusion
After researching these sites in detail and testing out and evaluating all the different aspects, we have to say that both sites have massively impressed us. Each site offers a quality experience with a myriad of sports betting markets, competitive odds, great bonuses, and special features. If you sign up for either of the sites you will not be disappointed.
However, unlike cricket, we don’t do draws here, so the winner of the battle between the two we would have to say is Bovada. This is because when it comes to available markets, live betting, payment methods, and usability of their main site and mobile site, they slightly outperform BetUS.
One of the biggest positives for Bovada is the betting lines they offer. Even though BetUS doesn’t lack in terms of markets on games compared to other sites, Bovada goes even further and has even more. In addition, the whatsyourwager feature really makes Bovada stand out and makes the options to bettors almost limitless.
The website design was also a big factor in Bovada being our favored choice. The website and app are more cutting-edge and easier to use. Also, certain features like prop builder tools and an automatic round-robin creator improve the functionality of Bovada’s site at make for an all-round better experience.
So, although we enjoy both sites and both offer an outstanding betting experience, we have to say Bovada is the better of the two.
