Jeff Hawkins is an award-winning sportswriter with more than four decades in the industry (print and digital media). A freelance writer/stay-at-home dad since 2008, Hawkins started his career with newspaper stints in Michigan, North Carolina, Florida, Upstate New York and Illinois, where he earned the 2004 APSE first-place award for column writing (under 40,000 circulation). As a beat writer, he covered NASCAR Winston Cup events at NHIS (1999-2003), the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks (2003-06) and the NFL's Carolina Panthers (2011-12). Hawkins penned four youth sports books, including a Michael Jordan biography. Hawkins' main hobbies include mountain bike riding, 5k trail runs at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, N.C., and live music.

Oh, no you didn’t, Rihanna! When trying to a take a selfie with the Los Angeles Police Commissioner Steven Soboroff‘s phone, she accidentally drops it and breaks the screen. We’re sure Rihanna hooked him up quick, but this photo catching their reactions is perfect.

The Raptors season may be over, but they went home to the full support of Toronto including Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly. Way to show some humor by the boss of the city while the Raptors mascot takes a bite out of him.

No worries, you have 6’7 forward Kelly Oubre from high school powerhouse Findlay Prep coming to Lawrence next year. Oubre possesses some real jaw-dropping athleticism and talent that should have the fans just as excited as when Wiggins came to town. We know we’re pumped to see what Oubre and Jayhawks will do next year.

Wisconsin senior forward Zach Bohannon may look goofy, but he’s really just a huge fan like the rest of us. Bohannon definitely deserves a follow on IG as he took full advantage of getting a field pass to a Yankees game as he gets selfies with everybody, including Derek Jeter.
