Whilst you will come across numerous betting apps in the US, not all are equally great. To determine which ones can be classified as top-ranking, we put them through rigorous analysis.
Here are some of the main characteristics that we consider and how we rank.
Licensing & Security
Reputable betting apps in Nevada are all licensed by a competent jurisdiction. Since online sports betting is still in its infancy in the US, most operators choose to get licensed by experienced offshore authorities. MyBookie, for example, is licensed and regulated by the Government of Curacao.
Security is also an important consideration when filtering through Nevada betting apps. In addition to transmitting sensitive data using encrypted methods, top apps let you activate two-factor authentication and similar tools.
Mobile Betting Experience
The best Nevada sportsbook apps go beyond simply providing a way to bet using your phone. From the onset, they design an interface that is easy to use and intuitive. In many cases, you should be able to find your selected market and place a bet with just a couple of taps.
A great example of a top-notch mobile betting experience is available at BetOnline. The bet slip is always just a tap away, and creating parlays is easy and quick.
Betting Markets & Odds
One of the ways in which online sportsbooks compete is by trying to offer the greatest number of sports. Whilst variety is important, we also look at the range of markets and odds on offer.
BetOnline offers over 25 sports and eSports, each featuring a wide range of creative markets. In addition, you can access competitive odds and have the ability to combine bets into parlays and place teasers and bets.
Mobile Betting Bonuses
If you’re planning to deposit real money, you might as well get rewarded for it. The top Nevada mobile betting platforms provide one or more welcome bonuses and a range of ongoing promotions. However, we look beyond just the offer’s figure. To make it to our list, the terms associated with the promotion must be reasonable and fair.
BetOnline, for example, offers a 50% bonus of up to $1,000 with a reasonable 10x rollover requirement.
Live Betting & Streaming on Mobile
Live betting is a feature that is available across all our recommended betting apps in Nevada. With in-play bets, you can feel part of the action as you predict what will happen next. In certain cases, you will also be able to cash out early and make the most of a correct prediction.
BetOnline delivers a superb live betting interface that lets you quickly filter through matches that are taking place right now. In addition, this is the only reputable betting app in Nevada that lets you stream a selection of matches.
Payment Methods
To make payments easier, we pick betting apps that support a good range of methods and currencies. Since debit and credit cards are popular options, all the recommended online sportsbooks accept this option. In addition, due to their popularity and lower cost, the majority of the betting apps featured here accept cryptocurrencies.
Certain Bitcoin betting sites, such as BetUs, will give you a special reward if you pay using Bitcoin or any other supported cryptocurrency. As a new player, you can get up to $2,500 as a welcome bonus.
Customer Support
To deliver a great customer experience, you should be able to get help as soon as you need it. The majority of the mobile betting apps in Nevada featured here provide 24/7 support via live chat. These include our top three apps, namely BetOnline, MyBookie, and BetUS.
Nevada Betting Apps for iPhone & Android
Our recommended mobile betting apps are available for both Android and iOS devices. You can find these apps with ease on either Google Play or the App Store.
After having tested the best NV betting apps with both operating systems, we recommend BetOnline is best for Android users. If, instead, you operate an iOS phone, then we recommend you download the XBet app.
Nevada Sportsbook Apps for Tablet
If you’d rather place sports bets on a bigger device, you’re in luck. As long as your tablet runs on either the iOS or Android operating system, you can download our recommended Nevada mobile sports betting apps onto your device.
How to Download a Nevada Betting App
We know you’re eager to download the best app for sports betting in Nevada. This section will help you to find and download the app and proceed to make a deposit and place a bet.

Mobile Sites vs Apps for Betting in Nevada
In truth, there aren’t a huge amount of differences between betting using a mobile app or just using a mobile-optimized sportsbook – they both work well, and both allow you to place wagers on the go. That said, there are a few notable pros and cons to each, which we have listed below:
Mobile Site
Pros:
- Doesn’t take up any memory on your device
- Will not send you any unwanted notifications
- No downloads or installation required
- Perfectly mirrors the desktop site
- No updates required
Cons:
- Less security, particularly if accessing via public WiFi
- Players may miss out on app-specific deals
Mobile App
Pros:
- Instant access to sports betting
- Receive updates and alerts for key sports events and betting opportunities
- Enhanced security
- Faster transactions
Cons:
- Takes up memory on your device

Who can Bet on Sports in Nevada
Nevada has over 300 licensed casinos. If you are 21 and over, you can bet on pro and college sports, but not on high school sports. Most offshore sportsbooks require members to be at least 21 years old to create an account online.
How to Bet on Sports in Nevada
Betting on your favorite sport isn’t daunting at all. It is a straightforward process to create an account, but we walk you through each stage of the process below too – just so you know what to expect. After creating your account, we’ll also guide you through the process of placing your first bet.
1. Create Your Account
If you are using a sports app, the first move is to install it on your smart device. When the app installs, press it and wait for the registration screen to load. Creating your account via the web browser requires you to find the join or registration link at the top of the screen. You can also find this link in the footer area.
2. Verify Your Account Details
After creating your account, the next move is to verify the accuracy of your account. After you press submit, you will receive an auto-generated email. Check your account and verify the info. If the betting site needs more information to verify, they will let you know.
3. Make Your Deposit
Now that your account is official, the next move is to make a deposit. Our listed betting sites all offer a variety of payment gateways, that work quickly and efficiently. The usual payment methods are credit cards, cryptocurrencies, eWallets, and money wire transfer services.
Pick a Sports Promotion
Now that you’ve made your deposit, we recommend checking the betting site’s promotions area for the latest sports packages. It is customary to have a welcome package. BetUS leads the pack with a dedicated 100% sports welcome bonus up to $2,500. All members have access to sports reloads and rebates.
Fill out the Bet Slip
With everything else in order, the final step is to actually place your bet. That’s where the bet slip comes into play. Legitimate sports betting sites have sports strategy guides to help you learn the different bets and boost your chances of making a winning bet. The bet slip responds to live bets and adjusts the odds accordingly.
Is Sports Betting Legal in Nevada?
Sports Betting, like most other forms of gambling in Nevada, is legal and has been for some time. In accordance with the law and Regulation 22, players must be 21 and over before signing up to a betting site and will most often need to make the trip to a licensed land-based casino or resort in the state to register for an online sportsbook account.
Interestingly, whilst the online sports betting market is formally regulated, the online casino market in NV is not. In reality, however, you can find a selection of offshore online casinos operating without issues in the State.
Previous Sports Betting Bills in Nevada
To generate wealth and create new employment opportunities following the Great Depression, Nevada opted to fully legalize gambling way back in 1931. Since then, the state has gone on to become arguably the world’s most famous hotspot for all forms of gambling, and this includes sports betting, which has been legal in NV since long before the abolishment of PASPA. Here is the legal journey of sports betting in the state:
- 1949 – Legal sports betting is put to a general vote during the House session (1949 Statutes of Nevada Index). State legislators unanimously voted in favor of legal sports betting and, consequently, the formation of the Nevada Gaming Control Act.
1949, the year Sports Betting Became Legal in Nevada
Before states scrambled to legalize sports betting in their territory, Nevada sports betting was already in full swing. Nevada offers next to no restrictions on sports betting.
Supporters
As more pro teams flock to Nevada, they strongly support the expansion of sports betting in The Silver State. Major sportsbooks like BetMGM and Wynn Sportsbook app continue to thrive. Because Nevada doesn’t impose any restrictions on online sports gambling, offshore sportsbooks like the ones in this guide all benefit from Nevadans signing up to play.
Opponents
At this moment, there doesn’t appear to be any legislation going against sports gambling in Nevada.
When will Betting be Legal in Nevada?
Nevada was one of three states that received immunity from the PAPSA federal sports ban. But before that law came into effect, Nevada already had legalized sports gambling in its state since 1949.
Tax on Sports Betting Winnings in Nevada
With Nevada being a mecca for entertainment and gambling, sports betting operators aren’t exempt from paying taxes. A live entertainment tax applies for non-restricted licensees monthly. 3.5% of the first $50,000 is taxed on any revenues made during the month, and this goes up to 6.75% for revenues above $134,000.
A bill was passed earlier in 2021 by the state legislature to increase taxes for gambling for non-restricted gaming licensees who make more than $250,000 in revenues. The new threshold is 9.75%. Nevada doesn’t impose state income taxes, but its residents must pay federal tax on net sports gambling winnings.
Payment Methods available at Nevada Online Sports Betting Sites
The top sports betting apps in NV provide several different methods by which players can deposit into and withdraw from their accounts, ranging from fiat options like American Express and Visa to cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Tether.
Take a look at the most common available payment methods at Nevada betting apps below:
Payment Method About Examples Traditional fiat options - Trusted – managed by banks
- Small transaction fees applied (typically around 5%)
- Payouts tend to take 3-5 days
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, bank wire transfers, money orders Cryptocurrencies - Anonymous banking
- Zero transaction fees from the platform (small mining charges may apply only)
- Instant deposits and withdrawals
Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, Ripple, Dogecoin eWallets - Harder to find, but work as intermediaries between your money and the sportsbook
- Often, zero charges are applied (or at least less than transacting via fiat)
Paypal, Neteller Crypto Betting Options
Bitcoin is the centerpiece of cryptocurrencies. All of the sportsbooks listed in this article offer Bitcoin. To use Bitcoin, you must set up a Bitcoin wallet on your computer or device, then convert some funds into Bitcoin. More sportsbooks offer alternatives to Bitcoin, like Ethereum and Litecoin. BetOnline and BetUS have sections devoted to Bitcoin, and how to use them.
eWallet Betting Options
Like Bitcoin, eWallets are also surging in popularity. Neteller and Skrill are the most popular eWallets, but BetOnline goes one step further by having PayPal as a major eWallet option. To setup an eWallet, you need a valid email, and a means to fund it. If the sportsbook allows it, select your preferred eWallet in the cashier section, and choose your desired deposit amount.
Traditional Payment Methods at Nevada Betting Sites
Visa and MasterCard headline the traditional credit card options. Both are free to use and so are their debit card equivalents. Most online sports betting sites require a credit card authorization form on file before you can begin using them. We recommend submitting this form after registration because it can take some time for approval.
Bonuses available at Nevada Sportsbooks
Offshore sportsbooks have many unique sports promotions to help you bolster that winning bet. We break down the most popular sports bets that Nevadans can use to come out on top.
The Sports Welcome
The sports starter prize is generally the first bonus for new Nevada sportsbook members. BetUS offers the biggest sports welcome with a 100% matching bonus up to $2,500. BetOnline offers a stout 50% sports welcome worth up to $1,000. When you find your sports welcome starter, enter the appropriate bonus code at the cashier to unlock it.
Sports Reloads
All members have access to rewarding sports reloads and rebate bonuses. Every time you place a wager, there’s a chance that it won’t be successful. To help offset losses, offshore sportsbooks offer either a rebate or a reload to keep you on the winning path. Reloads reimburse a percentage of incurred losses. BetOnline leads the charge with a 25% sports reload.
Live Bet Promotions
Because live bets is a critical component of a sports betting site, certain offshore bookies offer risk-free bets. Risk-free bets help to break the ice and get new members to make their first live bet on major sports including prized fights and boxing.
Horse Racing Bonuses
Racetracks are also a critical component of offshore sportsbooks, and our listed ones are no exception. Sites like BetOnline offer risk-free bets exclusively for horse racing. The aim is to get players to make their very first horse racing bet.
XBet and BetOnline also offer scintillating daily horse rebates. BetOnline slights edges out XBet with a 9% daily horse rebate.
Crypto Boosters
Because Bitcoin is vying with credit cards as the dominant banking option, more sports betting sites are packing promotions around them. BetOnline, MyBookie, and BetUS, in particular, have exceptional crypto promotions. BetUS, in our opinion, offers the most extensive and comprehensive crypto bonuses.
Sports Contests
Major sports like college basketball, the NBA, and the NHL, to name a few, bring out seasonal sports contests at offshore sportsbooks. These limited-time promotions allow members to enjoy their sport and rack up on extra sports wagers. The common sports contests include March Madness and the NBA and NFL playoffs. You will also find elite tournaments like the Masters and the Kentucky Derby.
Popular Sports to Bet on in Nevada
Residents of the Silver State can bet on their favorite pro and college teams at our distinguished sports betting sites. We highlight the essential pro and college sports in or supported by Nevadans.
Dunk the Winning NBA Bet
NBA betting has been available in Nevada since 1949. All of our listed betting sites offer competitive NBA bets, including parlays, and NBA live betting. We feel that BetOnline offers more NBA futures for members to place their bets on.
Nevada isn’t home to an NBA team. Northern Nevada is only a couple hours away from Sacramento, so many of those residents have access to Sacramento Kings home games. Southern Nevada is near Los Angeles. The southern region has access to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers home games.
Score the Winning Touchdown with elite NFL Betting
The best NFL games and NFL sports betting is available for Nevadans. Our listed sports betting sites offer competitive NBA betting, but we feel that both XBet and BetOnline have additional NFL futures that separate them from the other bookies. Common NFL future wagers include conference and Super Bowl champions, the League MVP, etc.
Nevada is home to the Las Vegas Raiders. We highlight the brief history of the Las Vegas Raiders.
- Las Vegas Raiders – The Raiders left Oakland for the second time and relocated to Las Vegas in 2020. The Raiders narrowly lost the AFC Wildcard game to the eventual AFC champions, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Swing for the Fences with Major League Baseball
Nevadans have been betting on Major League Baseball in-state since 1949. Now, they can do so online with any of our partner sportsbooks. We feel that BetOnline and BetUS deliver extra MLB betting options, including Cy Young Winners.
Nevada isn’t home to a Major League Baseball team.
Shoot the Winning Puck with NHL Betting
Nevadans are free to place sports wagers on their favorite NHL team, or the home-grown Las Vegas Golden Knights. We feel that BetOnline, BetUS, and XBet all deliver the most comprehensive NHL betting options. Nevadans can gamble on Stanley Cup winners, the MVP, and other prestigious NHL futures.
Nevada is home to one NHL team, the Vegas Golden Knights.
- Vegas Golden Knights – Came into the league as an expansion team in 2017. They won the Stanley Cup Finals in their very first year of existence.
Win Big with College Basketball Betting
Nevada is home to championship basketball. Nevadans are free to place basketball bets at our sites, but we recommend BetOnline for college basketball bets. BetOnline, in our opinion, offers slightly more betting options.
Nevada features two NCAA Division One teams. We highlight them for you.
- University of Nevada at Reno – The Wolfpack have nine NCAA Tournament appearances.
- University of Nevada at Las Vegas – The Running Rebels won the NCAA tournament in 1990.
Place Elite College Football Wagers
Nevadans can bet live on their favorite college football team. All of our listed sportsbooks provide superb college football gambling. We still recommend BetOnline for its well-detailed college football odds, player props, and other college football future wagers.
We shine a light on Nevada’s college football teams from NCAA division one.
