Victor Wembanyama Will Miss San Antonio’s Showdown With the Bulls On Thursday
The latest Victor Wembanyama injury update sees the Spurs center sidelined for their clash with the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night.
Victor Wembanyama Injury Update
San Antonio will have to make do without their star man on Thursday night, with Victor Wembanyama suffering from bilateral lower back soreness.
It comes at an unfortunate time for the Spurs, who were reeling from having a near-complete roster following a spate of injuries. Jeremy Sochan returned in their defeat to Phoenix with 14 points, but it was one in one out for San Antonio as Wembanyama fell hard under a charge from Bradley Beal.
Again, word is that Victor Wembanyama hurt his back at some point late in the Suns game, but we’re still not certain if it was during this charge against Beal. #PorVida #NBA #Spurs #WeAreTheValley pic.twitter.com/XTayCITSBa

Wembanyama has already missed three games prior to this latest absence after suffering a bruised knee earlier in the season, although the Spurs managed to go 2-1 in the NBA without their chief points scorer.
It is unclear how long they will tread with caution over his lower back issues, but he is a certainty to be ruled out against the Bulls on Thursday. Given back problems are typically handled with extra care, there is a strong possibility he could miss a second game in the back-to-back with the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
The Spurs will also have to make do without Tre Jones, who is still nursing a problematic shoulder sprain. No timeline has been given for his potential return.
As for Chicago, their recent choppy form has coincided with a spate of injuries. They will be without Coby White, Patrick Williams and Lonzo Ball who have all been listed on the latest Bulls injury report.
The Spurs will host the Bulls at the Frost Bank Arena on Thursday, with tip-off is slated for 7 pm CST.
