Denver Nuggets Unveil 2023 NBA Championship Rings With Retractable Banner

On Monday night, the Denver Nuggets received their first NBA championship rings prior to taking on the Los Angeles Lakers to tip off the 2023-24 NBA season.

Last season, the Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in five games of the NBA Finals to win their first title in their 47-year franchise history. Nikola Jokic ended the season as MVP runner-up before winning Finals MVP.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver presented the players, coaches, and owner Stan Kroenke with state-of-the-art rings designed by Jason Arasheben, the CEO of the jewelry house Jason of Beverly Hills.

According to a few NBA betting sites, the Denver Nuggets hold third-shortest odds to repeat this season in 2024. Sportsbooks are showing better odds for the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks.

Jason has designed rings in the past for the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Aces.

Each right for Denver was designed to feature a pullout of the championship banner and blue gems behind the Nuggets’ logo on the ring’s face.

The championship ring features the Nuggets’ logo in over 16 carats of diamonds, rubies, and blue sapphires to represent the team’s colors.

Sixteen carats are a nod to the number of playoff wins that Denver won to win its first title. The Nuggets finished 16-4 in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

Denver defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in five first-round games, eliminated the Phoenix Suns in six second-round games, and then swept the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Moreover, Jason of Beverly Hills included a new feature unique to only Denver’s rings. A hidden, retractable compartment slides out of the side of the ring to unveil the Nuggets’ 2023 championship banner.

One side of the ring showcases “World Champions” above the Nuggets’ logo, along with Denver’s 53-29 regular season record below. The designer added red rubies to symbolize the team’s top-notch defensive effort in their championship-clinching Game 5.

“89 points of red rubies around the perimeter of the ring top honor the 89 points the Nuggets defense held their opponent to in the championship clinching final game,” said Jason of Beverly Hills.

Of course, the other side of the ring features each player’s name and number, alongside the team’s mantra “Bring It In.” The jeweler included “5280” to represent Denver’s altitude above sea level.

More importantly, the rings feature a lever at the top of the ring that changes “1967,” the year the franchise was founded, to “2023,” the year the Nuggets brought home their first title.

After head coach Michael Malone received his ring, the two-time All-Star Game head coach (2019, 2023) gave a short speech thanking fans for their support.

“You guys have been the best fans in the NBA for eight years… We got one ring. Who wants another?” he asked.
