With the Golden State Warriors, officially the 2017 NBA World Champions, the focus in the NBA will shift completely to next week’s 2017 NBA Draft.

As is typical this time of year, there is a lot of misdirection taking place as reports of bad workouts, canceled workouts and potential promises have started to leak out and that’s created what could be significant movement in the Mock Draft world, the question becomes how much of the talk is real?

Here is a look at all 60 picks, in this latest Mock Draft.

Some Notes:

The LA Lakers continue to look at possible options with the second overall pick. They had UCLA’s Lonzo Ball in last week, they had NC State’s Dennis Smith Jr. in on Sunday and have De’Aaron Fox on the schedule for today.

The narrative surrounding the Lakers is they are still evaluating options. According to sources close to the process, some inside the decision-making circle have their favorites, but there does not seem to be anything close to a front-runner. There has been talk in NBA circles that Josh Jackson did very well in his workout with the Lakers in Sacramento, so much so that there are reports coming out of Phoenix suggesting Jackson may have a promise. Jackson recently canceled a planned visit with the Celtics, leading to more speculation he may have a commitment he is comfortable with.

The Lakers continue to tell agents they have made no decisions or commitments, mostly to make sure they get the workouts they want to schedule.

None of this is unusual at this point in the draft calendar. Most NBA teams do not lock into who they will likely draft until the week of the draft, which makes this week very important in the decision-making process.

The Orlando Magic continue to be something of an enigma in the draft, mainly because of the change in leadership that’s now final in Orlando. There is a real sense the Magic are going to swing for the fences at number six, mainly because new leadership has a new runway and will be looking to re-build the team with their own mindset.

FSU’s Jonathan Isaac continues to be the name mentioned most in NBA circles. Most talent evaluators feel like Isaac would be a top three pick in a normal draft, but given the depth of talent at the top of this draft board, what most perceive as top-three talent may be on the board to the Magic at six and he may constitute the dare-to-be-great move that new team president Jeff Weltman and general manager John Hammond seem to gravitate toward.

The new Magic leadership has been pretty good at keeping information in-house, so there is not a real sense of which way the Magic are leaning, but more and more outsiders are pegging Isaac to the Magic at six.

There is still a perception that the Minnesota Timberwolves at seven and the Detroit Pistons at 12 are open to trading their picks in the first round in exchange for a solid, proven veteran. Both teams are operating as though they’ll use the pick, but there is a sense that as the draft plays out, those picks could be had.

The New York Knicks are the team mentioned the most likely to trade for an additional pick, so that’s the one to watch in terms of teams looking to add picks.

Keep in mind the next Consensus Mock Draft drops tomorrow, featuring four different perspectives on the first round. Next week, we’ll drop three more Mocks, one featuring some of our friends in the media world, another Mock from me, and a full 60-pick Consensus Mock from our four-man team on Wednesday just prior to the draft itself.
