Jokic is running away with MVP after back-to-back 56 and 48-point games
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is running away with yet another MVP award following back-to-back games with 56 and 48 points.
Can anyone stop Jokic from winning a fourth MVP award in 2025?
According to the best online betting sites, Jokic is already odds-on (-125) for MVP and we’re not even two months into the season – so that tells you how high his level of play has been so far.
The Serbian put up an incredible 48 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, which followed Saturday’s 56 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists against the Washington Wizards.
These numbers are not normal and that pair of showings have taken his averages to 32.3 points, 13.6 rebounds and 10.2 assists a night on 51% shooting from three and 56% from the floor.
The 29-year-old, who placed his name alongside the all-time greats when winning Finals MVP in 2023, already has three MVPs in his cabinet at home and looks set to join the exclusive club of four-time winners.
Another triumph would put him on par with LeBron James and Wilt Chamberlain – and within touching distance of Michael Jordan and Bill Russell who have five.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar leads the way with six but it’s not crazy to think that Jokic could reach that number eventually, he’s still got at least another five years at the top of his game.

The likes of Jayson Tatum, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic can feel free to fight amongst themselves for second place because this award looks signed, sealed and delivered to Jokic already.
When he was selected with the 41st overall pick in 2014, no one could have ever imagined the talent that Jokic has blossomed into today – without a doubt one of basketball’s best stories.
