2016 “Outsiders” NBA Mock Draft

BrandonIngramDuke1

Every week of the NBA Draft season, Basketball Insiders publishes what we call the Consensus Mock draft, which is a look at the draft from four different perspectives from members of our Basketball Insiders team.

Last year, we asked some of our friends in the media world to contribute their thoughts and it turned out really well, so we decided to do it again.

We call it the “Outsiders” Mock Draft, not because the experts involved are not deeply embedded in the NBA, but simply to make sure it’s clear these voices don’t actually work for us and are outside of our team.

This year, our “Outsiders” team consists of former Basketball Insider Jessica Camerato (@JCameratoCSN), who now covers the Philadelphia 76ers and NBA for Comcast. The 76ers hold multiple picks in the first round, including the first overall pick and Jess has been at all of their draft workouts. Also on the team is A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN), who covers the Boston Celtics and NBA for Comcast. The Celtics also hold multiple picks in the first round, including the third overall pick, and he too has been around everything in Boston all summer. Vincent Ellis (@Vincent_Ellis56) covers the Detroit Pistons and the NBA for the Detroit Free Press. The Pistons hold the 18th pick. Brett Pollakoff (@BrettEP) covers the NBA for Fox Sports and was part of the inaugural “Outsiders” team last year.

As you can see, we have a great cast of characters, so take a look at how they see the 2016 NBA Draft:

There will be one more Consensus Mock Draft on Wednesday, the 22nd, and a final Draft Day Mock on June 23 that features all 60 picks. The annual Basketball Insiders Draft Day diary will drop on Wednesday, so you’ll be able to keep up with all the news, notes and rumors surrounding the draft.
