Timeline: Legal Mississippi Sports Betting Movements
Since more recent bills died in committee to bring state-wide mobile wagering, we are currently at a standstill with sports betting only being legal at retail locations.
Additionally, mobile wagering is still limited to the on-site brick-and-mortar casinos.
- January 24, 2023: HB 606 is referred to the House Gaming Committee. The bill would allow outside operators to enter the limited mobile betting market in the state.
- February 10, 2022: There is a new agreement between Fubo Gaming and the Mississippi Gaming Control Board to provide mobile sports betting services upon regulatory approval and legalization of mobile sports betting. The Fubo Sportsbook lives in Arizona and Iowa but has agreements with 10 states.
- February 1, 2022: HB 184 is among four sports betting bills that committees have rejected. Therefore, Mississippi is expected to be one of the states that will not offer mobile betting by 2022.
- January 17, 2022: Senate Bill 2462 – The Mississippi Mobile Sports Pool and Race Book Wagering Act. Pari-mutuel wagering and online sports betting would be legalized in MS.
- January 3, 2022: HB 184 was introduced in the Mississippi Legislature by Rep. Cedric Burnett, which would allow online sports betting (under the control of gaming license holders) and wagering on esports competitions.
- November 12, 2021: MGM Resorts International’s Beau Rivage in Biloxi has launched BetMGM’s mobile app, offering two platforms to bettors.
- November 4, 2021: On Tuesday, Mississippi’s House Gaming Committee announced that it would launch another bill that would allow online wagering statewide by the end of 2022.
- September 2021: This marks the first time BetMGM has launched a mobile sportsbook in Mississippi, allowing bettors to place wagers on mobile devices while visiting a BetMGM retail sportsbook.
- February 2021: SB 2732 and HB 1042 were introduced weeks earlier but failed in committee. SB 2732 and HB 1042 proposed that online gambling would be legal throughout the entire state of Mississippi.
- March 2020: The Legislative Assembly passed HB 172, legalizing mobile and online sports betting statewide.
- August 2018: In Mississippi, BetMGM has become the first sportsbook to go live.
- June 2018: It has been announced that the Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has released its official regulations for sports betting.
- May 2018: After the Supreme Court overturned PASPA, states can now set their own sports betting laws.
- March 2017: Mississippi has legalized daily fantasy sports. In addition, HB 967 removes sports betting prohibition language, lifting the statewide ban.

Wondering where the best place is to wager on your favorite sports games? We’ll review the 5 best online sportsbooks in Mississippi for 2024.
1. BetOnline – Overall Best Mississippi Sports Betting Site in 2024
BetOnline is another top Mississippi sports betting site that particularly stands out for its selection of NBA wagers. With this sportsbook, you can bet not only on upcoming games, but also on NBA futures, the NBA draft, or even next year’s championship winner. Throughout the season, BetOnline offers dozens of prop bets per game and has excellent odds for aggressive parlays.
Another thing we like about BetOnline is that it includes a comprehensive racebook. So, you can bet on professional horse racing both in the US and abroad. You’ll even find futures betting for races that are still many months away.
BetOnline offers new bettors a bonus of up to $1,000 when you first join the sportsbook. In addition, you can claim an additional $1,000 the first time you make a deposit with cryptocurrency and an extra 5% on top of your deposit when you reload your account using Bitcoin.
What we like:
- Bet on NBA futures, the draft, and next year’s championship
- Favorable odds for parlay bets
- Racebook with futures betting
- Extra bonus for Bitcoin deposits
What we don’t:
- No live streaming
2. Bovada – Best Site for NBA Sports Betting in Mississippi
If you want an online sportsbook that will let you watch games as well as bet on them, Bovada is our top recommendation. This platform offers seamless high-definition streaming for much of the action you can bet ob . In addition, Bovada makes it simple to place live in-game bets with just a few clicks.
Another thing we love about Bovada is that the range of sports available to bet on is simply enormous. This sportsbook offers wagers on all the major US and European sports leagues, as well as betting on lesser-watched sports like skiing, water polo, and Gaelic games. Bovada also has a unique prop builder tool that makes it simple to set up parlays and custom bets.
Bovada is one of the top Bitcoin betting sites – the sportsbook offers up to $750 when you fund your betting account with Bitcoin. Of course, the site also accepts credit and debit cards for payment, but you won’t receive nearly as generous a bonus.
What we like:
- Lag-free HD streaming
- Wide range of sports to bet on
- Prop builder for custom bets
- 75% deposit match when you pay with Bitcoin
What we don’t:
- Small welcome bonus for non-crypto payments
3. BetNow – Best Mississippi Online Sports Betting Site for NFL Games
BetNow have been part of the online gambling scene in Mississippi since 2016. Their sports betting is particularly good when it comes to football and, in particular, the NFL. While there will occasionally be markets on the CFL and NCAAF, the NFL is where their most detailed props betting markets are offered.
You can bet both in-play and pre-game on each quarter of the match, with totals and player props offered for the first, second, third and final quarters. As well as this, you can choose to place your bets on each half too, while each team will have dedicated futures markets on their outlooks for the season.
Live betting is very quick with BetNow, but their other most notable asset is their reload offers. With every single deposit you make into a BetNow account, you can gain a percentage back as free bet bonuses.
When it comes to depositing and withdrawing, you do not have as caried a choice in terms of the currencies available. Only Bitcoin can be guaranteed for crypto users on BetNow, though if you are a high roller who favors higher stakes betting, you can rely upon a maximum deposit of up to $40,000.
What we like:
- Low rollover requirements
- Great football betting
- Reloads with every deposit
- High maximum deposit limits
What we don’t:
- Site could use an update
4. Everygame – Great for US-Based Sports
Everygame’s sportsbook is just one of four separate platforms incorporated into their Mississippi online gambling site. Their sports betting options consistently offer competitive odds on all of the key US sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB and MLS.
Of the MS online sports betting sites we reviewed, few had a site as easy to navigate on both mobile and desktop as Everygame. You could customize exactly what you wanted out of Everygame’s site, so you can access your favorite sports and betting types straight away when you log back into your account.
Customer service is top drawer with Everygame, with all of their live chat, email and phone support channels responding within 24 hours to our test queries. As well as this, you can use one of four different cryptocurrencies if you prefer to not use traditional methods.
Conversely, Everygame’s welcome offer is one of the smaller ones numerically. However, it does also last for longer, as you can claim it on your first three deposits into your new Mississippi online sports betting account.
What we like:
- Welcome bonus lasts three deposits
- Competitive odds on all major sports leagues
- Smooth mobile platform
- College sports betting available
What we don’t:
- Cannot live stream bets
5. XBet – Great markets for Live Betting and Blog by Gambling Experts
As well as excellent betting markets, XBet ensures their customers have the best insight at their fingertips while they are betting. Saving you the hassle of reading all the facts and stats elsewhere, XBet’s own blog can provide you with all you need to bet informedly and fairly.
Their offers are excellent too, with the most appealing coming on their racebook. Every single week at Xbet, you will gain a 7% rebate on your horse racing losses, so if you have had a bad week betting on the horses, you will at least gain some compensation.
The overall welcome bonus is worth up to $500, which could be bigger, but you will gain a reload deposit boost on your second deposit Equally, there are betting competitions and other engaging elements to the site which keep loyal customers coming back.
You can gain your payouts within 48 hours at XBet regardless of which currency you use. That said, we believe there should be more cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal options than only Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin.
What we like:
- Weekly rebate on racebook
- Insightful info to help bettors
- Reload deposit bonus
- Engaging site
What we don’t:
- Only three cryptocurrencies accepted

Comparing the Best MS Betting Apps and Mobile Sites
Now that you’ve learned more about the top Mississippi betting sites for 2024, let’s take a closer look at how they compare:

When it comes to how we rank the best sports betting apps in Mississippi, there are seven aspects we focus on. Again, each player has a sense of what is important, but these seven neutral components help set any player up for a positive experience.
Mobile Betting Experience
Here, we consider how well the sportsbook runs on a mobile device and if the website has been optimized for mobile use. We look at how the bet slip is presented on mobile, how simple it is to navigate, whether or not we encounter any bugs or experience lagging, etc.
Mississippi Betting Apps
Technically speaking, none of these offshore sportsbooks have a traditional mobile app that you can download from the Apple or Google Play stores. However, we looked at how the mobile site was optimized and if it took on the form of a “pseudo mobile app.”
Mobile Betting Bonuses
Here, we assess the bonuses available at the top Mississippi betting apps. If an app offers a lucrative welcome bonus such as that found at BetUS or offers cash reloads or free bets on the player prop market like at BetOnline, they tend to rank higher with us.
Live Mobile Betting in Mississippi & Streaming
Live betting has become extremely popular in recent years as this allows players to wager on contests actively in progress. Most of the best Mississippi sports betting apps not only offer live betting but have pages dedicated solely to it. Also, some sites will have live-streaming capabilities for select contests, which is a bonus.
Banking Options
Having a diverse set of banking methods is another feature we look for in a top MS sports betting app. If a site offers bettors the chance to make deposits and withdraw using a variety of cryptocurrencies, as well as via traditional credit cards, eChecks, and eWallets, it ranks higher with us.
Customer Service
Things do occasionally go wrong when sports betting online. Odds shift, rollover requirements contain small print, and lags cause live bets to go unwagered. So, having ways to contact representatives is something we consider to be a vital aspect of being a top mobile sports betting app.
Consequently, if an MS betting app has a live chat feature and/or an email address that responds quickly or even a toll-free phone number we can call, it improves its ranking on our list.
Licensing & Security
While this may be a list of offshore Mississippi betting apps, having some kind of license to operate indicates that it does answer to a governing body and is thus safe to use. All of the sites listed in our top 10 are regulated either in their country of residence or by a European regulatory body.

Who can sports bet from Mississippi
To legally wager on sports in Mississippi, you must go to a retail sportsbook and be 21 years of age or older. While there, you can wager via the cash cage or on your mobile device. Sports betting has been legal in Mississippi since August 2018.
Alternatively, if you want to wager from anywhere in Mississippi, you can do so by playing at any of our recommended offshore sportsbooks in the state.
How to Sign up to a Mississippi Betting App & Mobile Site
To play at any of these offshore sportsbooks’ mobile versions, you will need first to create an account. The process takes just a few minutes to complete, but we will break it down into four easy steps using our top-rated MS betting app, BetOnline.
Step 1: Create an Account at a Top Mississippi Mobile Site
After deciding which sports betting site you want to play from our list, you’ll want to head over and create an account. This process takes just a few minutes to complete, but you will be asked for details such as your name, date of birth, and other personal information.
Step 2. Check Promotions
After creating an account, head over to the promotions page. Here, you will see the welcome bonus and other offers available. This will help you decide how much you wish to deposit and using what method. For example, some welcome offers require a crypto deposit, or some won’t issue a bonus unless you pay more than a specific amount.
Step 3. Make Your First Deposit
Now that you’ve examined the promotions, you’ll know what your first deposit should be. Head back to the home page, and click on the cashier page. This is usually found in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Once here, select which method you want to deposit with and complete the process.
Step 4. It’s Time to Wager
With your account loaded with funds, it’s time to bet. On the home page, select the sport and bet type. The bet slip will appear, and here, you can complete the wager.
Mississippi Betting Apps & Mobile Sites for iPhone & Android
All of our top mobile betting apps in Mississippi will allow you to bet on either Android or iPhone, and you will not need to submit to any geolocation software when using offshore sportsbooks.
MS Mobile Sports Betting on iPhone
While there isn’t a traditional MS mobile sports betting app available on the go for iPhone, you can make an icon shortcut for all of these sites.
On the mobile site, you can click on the icon in the middle of the menu. It’s generally found along the bottom of the Safari mobile web browser and looks like a box with an arrow pointing up. You can then add the page to your home screen.
MS Mobile Sports Betting on Android
If you’re an Android user, there is no traditional mobile app for online sports betting in MS yet, either. However, the mobile site is optimized for Android devices and perfectly fits the page.
Mobile Site vs App for Betting in Mississippi
Regarding legal sportsbooks, the only mobile app available in Mississippi is BetMGM, which can only be used on the site of the BetMGM retail sportsbook.
However, other sites, like the offshore sportsbooks mentioned here, can be played anywhere. Here, we will compare them.
Sports Betting Mobile Site
With these top offshore sportsbook sites, you will find that the mobile sites are made to look like mobile apps. Thus, despite the fact you’re accessing the sportsbook via a mobile web browser, it still functions just as well as an app.
For iPhone users, you can add these mobile sites to your home page to make them look and act exactly like a mobile app, too.
What we like:
- No download required
- Numerous other betting platforms are available
- Still functions like a mobile app
- The only place to go for crypto bettors
What we don’t:
- Some load times can be slower than a mobile app
Online Sports Betting Mobile App
With a mobile app for a platform like BetMGM, you will download it directly from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. These sites are protected by the state of Mississippi, which provides an extra sense of security since the same cannot be said for offshore sportsbooks.
However, to wager on sports using the BetMGM sports betting app in MS, you must be physically located within the parameters of the retail sportsbook, which isn’t always convenient.
What we like:
- Consistent updates to create the best platform
- Functions extremely well
- Operation overseen by the state
What we don’t:
- Must be physically present at a retail sportsbook in MS to use
How to Create a Betting App for a Mississippi Sportsbook
We’ve mentioned it briefly a couple of times already, but here we will go into more detail about how to create your own Mississippi online sports betting app. This is for iOS users.
Step 1: Visit BetUS or BetOnline from your Mobile Browser
On your iPhone, go to the BetUS or BetOnline mobile website.
Step 2: Start Creating the Mobile App
Using BetOnline as an example, hit the button we have highlighted below.
Step 3: Add BetOnline to Your Home Screen
After clicking the icon seen above, click on “Add to Home Screen”.
Step 4: Create a Shortcut
Once you click to add this to the home screen, just click on “Add” in the upper right-hand corner.
Step 5: Use The Following Icon At Any Time
By adding this to the home page, you will now have an icon that is added to your home page. When you click on this, it will immediately take you to BetUS or any other top offshore sports betting app in Mississippi.
Is Sports Betting Legal in Mississippi?
Sports betting has been legal in Mississippi since 2018. However, mobile wagering laws are a bit unusual compared to other states. There are currently 2 domestic mobile sportsbooks but you can only use them when you are at licensed retail sportsbooks. If you at home or out and about then no inland mobile sports betting is allowed.
Previous Sports Betting Bills in Mississippi
The only possible bills we’ll see from here on out are those seeking to legalize mobile wagering anywhere in the state. However, with those having died in the committee, we now await the next move from lawmakers.
2022
- HB 997: This bill would legalize mobile sports betting anywhere in the state, with each casino getting one online betting license. Rep. Casey Eure brought this now-dead bill.
- HB 184: This bill also sought to legalize mobile wagering in the state but is also dead. Rep . Cedric Burnett has introduced this fill three times in four years.
- SB 2462: This bill would also legalize mobile sports wagering and introduce eSports. Sen. Phillip Moran brought this bill.
- SB 2652: This bill was similar to HB 997 but did not include the need to register for an account in person.

Bonuses Available at Mississippi Sportsbooks
When you visit an offshore sportsbook in Mississippi, you’ll want to ensure you explore the Promotions page. Here, you will discover what offers are available either as a welcome bonus or an existing player promo.
Below are some of the more well-known offers on the market, but there are even more than this.
Deposit Bonuses
Using BetOnline as an example, you will receive a 50% deposit match up to $1,000. This offer also contains a 10x wagering requirement.
Let’s run through an example with this in mind.
If you deposit $1,000, you will receive $500 in bonus credits. From here, to access these bonus funds, you must wager the $500 in bonus credits earned multiplied by 10. So, to withdraw the $500 as cash, you must wager $5,000 on the site.
Reload Bonuses
Reload bonuses act as another form of a deposit bonus but is always available to all players. These will have lower monetary benefits and rates than deposit bonuses.
These can be accessed by visiting the Promotions pages, opting into the offer, or submitting the necessary promo code on the deposit page.
Risk-Free/Free Bets
A risk-free bet makes it so that you can wager money on a contest and, if you lose, receive it back as site credit to then use again to try to win some cash.
Depending on the site, wagering requirements may be part of the terms of service.
No Deposit Bonus
A no deposit bonus may not offer much in terms of bonus funds ($10-$25), but all you need to do to retrieve this is just create an account at the respective sportsbook.
After creating an account, you’ll receive the instant boon to your account with wagering requirements of typically just 1x.
Welcome Bonuses
Welcome bonuses provide players with significant monetary benefits. At offshore sportsbooks, this is typically a deposit bonus.
At BetUS, for example, players will receive $2,500 in deposit bonus funds at a 100% rate. However, this type of offer comes with a sports wagering requirement, which must be completed before the player can withdraw the bonus funds as cash.
Existing Customer Promotions
Welcome bonuses are great, but the best online Mississippi betting apps will also offer regular bonuses and promos to existing customers to keep them interested. These offers include reload bonuses, free bets, odds boosts, and more.
Free Bets
At some online sportsbooks, you will have free bets and risk-free bets available. A free bet allows you to make a bet with free site credit, where you will keep the winnings on the bet but not the bet amount itself.
A risk-free bet allows you to wager on a contest while knowing that should you lose, you will receive your bet back as a site credit that can be used once again for a second chance at winning money.
