Jeff Hawkins is an award-winning sportswriter with more than four decades in the industry (print and digital media). A freelance writer/stay-at-home dad since 2008, Hawkins started his career with newspaper stints in Michigan, North Carolina, Florida, Upstate New York and Illinois, where he earned the 2004 APSE first-place award for column writing (under 40,000 circulation). As a beat writer, he covered NASCAR Winston Cup events at NHIS (1999-2003), the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks (2003-06) and the NFL's Carolina Panthers (2011-12). Hawkins penned four youth sports books, including a Michael Jordan biography. Now this is what the game is all about; even at the highest level. Bulls center Joakim Noah shows off his intensity on the court much to his father Yannick’s pleasure. Yannick gets so excited about his son’s play that he completely disregards the interview to cheer and give Joakim a standing ovation. Great pride by the Noah family shown in support of Joakim’s terrific season.
Dunk of the Night
For those that say the Thunder are a better team without point guard Russell Westbrook, watch this video and try to argue. Check out Russ fighting for the tough rebound then going coast-to-coast against the Lakers defense for a furious slam. Adjustments may need to be made as the Thunder welcome Westbrook back into the fold, but nobody can deny the talent he is when he’s healthy.

Oh, James Harden, is there anything you can’t do? Seriously, as we’ve shown previously, Harden can pull off a lot. But a cowboy hat and boots? He is in Texas, but this just seems like another opportunity for the Rockets guard to show off his style.
