NBA PM: Not The Greatest Draft Class
It’s Time For Some More Mocking
If you have not been following college basketball much this season, you are in for some bad news as it pertains to the 2016 NBA draft class: There is not a lot to get excited about, which is likely why so many forward-thinking teams were willing to trade out of this draft. Yes, the top of the draft is very intriguing, but the rest of the class leaves a lot to be desired.
As the 2016 draft order stands today, the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets will control 12 of the 30 projected first-round picks, with all four franchises having options on as many as three picks each, depending on the final standings.
Outside of the top overall prospects – LSU’s Ben Simmons and Duke’s Brandon Ingram – the rest of the class looks to be more skewed toward reserve-level players and a lot of size inside the top 100. As of right now, there looks to be 29 players in the 2016 class that measure in at 6’10 or bigger, with 13 players in the DraftExpress Top 100 measuring 7’0 or taller.
The 2016 draft class also looks to have a larger than normal contingent of 18- and 19-year-olds, with 30 players currently in the top 100 under 20 years of age as of today.
So without further ado, here is the latest 2016 NBA Mock Draft:
