Jimmy Butler’s agent hits out at ESPN’s Shams Charania over ‘bulls**t’ reports

NBA: Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors

Jimmy Butler’s agent Bernard Lee unleashed on ESPN’s Shams Charania over a ‘bulls**t’ report detailing the Phoenix Suns as a potential landing spot for the player.

Butler’s agent tells Shams: “Complete and utter made up bulls**t”

The news broke from ESPN’s new senior insider on Wednesday evening that the Phoenix Suns had emerged as a potential trade destination for Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler.

Earlier this week, widespread national media reports revealed the Heat are open to trading the 35-year-old for the right price but Butler’s agent took issue with Charania’s most recent update.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bernard Lee replied to Shams – dismissing the report as ‘complete and utter made up bulls**t’:

“Alright listen. I gave you a pass yesterday because I was busy but if you don’t stop putting my name on your complete and utter made up bulls**t because you know you normally aren’t worth my time to acknowledge.

Lee also questioned Charania’s legitimacy as a ‘journalist’ and for Shams, what better way to mark his first two months in the job after succeeding Adrian Wojnarowski?

Houston Rockets favored to land Butler in a trade with the Heat

According to the best online betting sites, the Houston Rockets are the favorites to land Butler, a six-time All-Star with five All-NBA honors and two Finals appearances to his name.

He was born in Houston, Texas and has always embraced his country roots so this appears a likely scenario – but the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors are also potential suitors.

Butler is averaging 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 17 games to start the year.
