The NBA is finally back! This Tuesday, October 24 will be opening night for the Warriors as they prepare to face the Phoenix Suns in a clash between two title contenders. Unfortunately for the Bay Area team, star Draymond Green is questionable to play this match, as his coach Steve Kerr confirmed he suffered an ankle sprain during training camp.

As it was reported first by ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, Golden State released an update on their forward’s status on Sunday.

“Warriors forward Draymond Green, who suffered a sprained left ankle during off-season workouts and missed all five of the team’s preseason games, continues to make good progress. He has been cleared to begin practicing with the team (5-on-5) and his return to game action will be based on his continued progress as he works his way into game-like condition,” the statement reads.

Despite his health issue, the veteran player was seen practicing shots this weekend. Check out Green’s Sunday workout session in the video below:

Via ESPN, the Warriors star revealed that if he’s not ready for opening night, he should be back on the court very soon. “I do feel good,” he expressed. “I don’t feel all the way 100% myself, but I’m getting there.”

Back in late September, Green first picked up his ankle injury and said he expected to miss at least a month of competition. He then added that he’d “dodged a bullet.”

Now that the 33-year-old has signed a new contract extension in San Francisco, coach Kerr is very happy to keep his core untouched.

“We’re really excited to have Draymond back,” he said back in July. “He’s been such a huge part of this decade run and, as he showed this past year, he still has plenty left in the tank. … Given that he plays so well with Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson], it was really a no-brainer to try to bring him back.”

A few of our recommended sport betting sites consider the Warriors (+1000) to be one of the title contenders of the season with the 6th best odds to conquer the championship.

Green recently called out Ja Morant’s father as the person to blame for his son’s latest off-court antics

ESPN recently released an article that revealed how Ja Morant‘s father, Tee, has impacted his son’s career in a negative way.

“Tee moved to Memphis a week after his son was drafted and enjoyed the spoils of his son’s rise to superstardom, hosting VIP events and parties at nightclubs, with television cameras often panning toward him,” insiders Tim MacMahon and Baxtor Holmes wrote.

As usual, the Warriors star didn’t hold his tongue and posted an Instagram story that has fired up more controversy around the Memphis‘ player, who currently holds a 25-game ban for the start of this NBA season.

“Oh no… let’s not remove another black father from their child life,” Green posted ironically.
