Out of Bounds: Its Got to be the Shoes
The Funny, Stupid Thing of the Day
https://twitter.com/MettaWorldPeace/statuses/497442631144996864
Um… Whatever you say, Metta World Peace. The man formerly known as Ron Artest is deciding to change his name again in honor of playing in China this summer. Because we all care about Metta so much, he must now be know as “The Panda’s Friend” until he decides to change again. The legend of Ron-Ron continues to live and grow.

The Kobe Bryant-Michael Jordan comparisons have been around forever and while they may finally start to calm down as Kobe’s career nears the end, it’s still important to know Kobe learned from the best. This is the third part of an awesome series by fan Youssef Hannoun comparing identical plays from both Kobe and MJ. The similarities are definitely undeniable.
Dunk of the Night
Class of 2016 guard Kwe Parker has already given us reasons to believe he’s the best dunker in high school, but this slam had our jaws drop again. Incredible to see so much bounce out of a guy who is only 6’2 and throw it down with his entire head above the rim.
Congratulations to Becky Hammon!
"I'm just thrilled for the opportunity to coach these unbelievable athletes" – Becky Hammon #GoSpursGo pic.twitter.com/qkO6zxMGgH
— San Antonio Spurs (@spurs) August 5, 2014
We have to applaud the San Antonio Spurs for again leading the way in the NBA by hiring former WNBA star Becky Hammon as a full-time assistant coach, the first in NBA history. Hammon is finally breaking down the gender barrier on the sidelines and we wish her and the Spurs nothing but great success.

Who doesn’t just love Dikembe Mutombo? You have to enjoy his childlike energy and enthusiasm while dancing with kids in Johannesburg, even if he’s 48 years old. Our hats off to Dikembe, a walking example of class for NBA players today.

Footlocker has been killing it lately with their hilarious commercials with the stars of the NBA. We have two great ones featuring Charles Barkley explaining to Rockets guard James Harden why short-term memory is important and Clippers guard Chris Paul denying an older fan in favor of getting selfies with kids.
Flashback of the Day

Wow, incredible to see the colossal difference Joel Embiid has gone through in just three years. Going from a skinny teenager to a jacked NBA player is a great example of how hard Joel has worked to get to where he is.

Very classy to see Nike give an inspirational shout-out to their man Paul George to overcome his terrible leg injury. Something tells us George will be just fine and back to being a dominant force in the NBA in short order.

Speaking of George, he went ahead and spoiled himself with this amazing Ferrari. Too bad he can only look at it for the time being, but we’re glad to see Paul keeping his spirits up despite the injury setback.
Streetball of the Day
The always entertaining Ball Up Streetball crew is back at it, this time making a stop at the basketball breeding ground that is Chicago. Good to see Bulls center Joakim Noah enjoying the local action with fans as well.

Oh yes, these are some hot Jordan Super Fly 3’s that are set to hit the stores soon. Estimated cost is a cool $140, we’ll just make our way to the cash machine until they drop.
